Novoplastik Oy, based in Uusikaupunki, Finland, produces interior trim parts for vehicle manufacturers. The company was founded in 1950 in Helsinki, Finland.

In the beginning, Novoplastik produced welded PVC products. Since 1976 it has been an interior trim part supplier for vehicle manufacturers. Today the development and production of vehicle interior parts is our main field of business. Novoplastik specializes in series below 30.000 units/year.

Our clients include many well-known vehicle manufacturers: Lotus, Valtra, Saab, John Deere, Opel, CarSport, Volvo, and Ford.
British sports car manufacturer Lotus has nominated Novoplastik Oy as the best supplier of the period 2005-2006. The award was presented in the Lotus Supplier Event in Norwich, England.

The nomination is based on a supplier evaluation system made by Lotus in which of over 250 suppliers Novoplastik Oy has been in the first place for the year 2005-2006.

Since 1999 Novoplastik Oy has manufactured dashboards, door trim panels and other interior parts for several Lotus models. Novoplastik Oy is also a part supplier for Tesla Roadster, electric sports car made by Lotus.
Our quality management system was approved to meet the ISO 9001:2000 standards since September 2002. Our registrar is Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI).

The overall purpose of our system is to ensure that we understand the needs of our customers and that we translate these needs into vehicle interior products in a way that is consistent and reliable.

Continuous improvement is an important aspect of our quality management system. We are constantly assessing the effectiveness of the system, making improvements, and capturing improvements through documented processes and staff training.

Short history of Novoplastik Oy
  • 1950 - Novoplastik Oy founded in Helsinki.
  • 1950-1975 - Produces welded PVC products with high frequence welding process.
  • 1976 - Starts production of vehicle interior parts. First products are door trim panels for Saab 96.
  • 1978 - Expands production of vehicle interior parts to Saab 99, Talbot Horizon, Talbot 1510 and Saab 900.
  • 1985 - Purchased by Sweden-based Gotthard Nilsson Ab, a daughter company of Gränges Ab. Focuses production solely on vehicle interior products.
  • 2003 - Novoplastik Oy reverted to private Finnish ownership.
